• Do you have a book idea but can’t get motivated to get it done?
  • Are you struggling to move your thoughts from your head to paper?
  • Do you get started, lose momentum, and quit?
  • Do you want to get unstuck and make progress?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, the GID (Get It Done) 45-Day
Nonfiction Writing Challenge is for you.

Did you know 81% of people in the U.S. believe they have a book trapped inside? Less than 3% attempt to start writing, and only 3% who start actually finish. Are you ready to be in that 3%? My mission is to help you become the writer whose book the world needs.

Join me and your peers as I walk beside you, guide you, and believe in you on your writer’s path.

Time to unleash your book idea! Imagine how you’ll feel the first time you hold your published book!

Overcome your fears, and get your head in the game.

Are you afraid of:

not knowing how to start?

being overwhelmed?

imposter syndrome?

exposing yourself and your ideas?

people not caring about what you have to say?

Let’s “Get It Done” one small step at a time.

When the idea of writing a book seems impossible, we tend to stop before we get started. Don’t even think about eating the whole elephant at once. Take one small bite at a time.

That’s why I designed this program with daily tasks to build momentum and progress. We’ll move step by step through the process of starting and writing your book. You’ll go from overwhelm to overjoy, realizing you have everything you need inside you to “Get It Done.”

Go from head and heart to pen and paper.
Join me and your peers for the powerful experience of community, connection, and collaboration.

Let’s build mental, emotional, and writing muscles to get rid of our fears, gain confidence, and move forward. Think of the satisfaction you’ll get out of accomplishing something every day!

Meet Your 45-Day Challenge Coach, Gail Kerzner

My goal is to make your writing dreams a reality by coaching you through the complex writing process to solidify your goals and develop a writing environment and schedule that sets you up for success. I’m also your cheerleader, confidante, and accountability partner who guides you through crafting a draft outline and chapters of your book. I know what it’s like to set out on a writing journey and fight to stay on track to plow through to completion.

I love sharing the delight when writers become published authors and believe they have accomplished one of their most significant life goals. As the owner of The Savvy Red Pen— bringing decades of experience in as a writing coach, editor, and proofreader—I’ve helped scores of authors take their manuscripts from concept to book-in-hand by offering expertise and moral support at various stages of their process. Some of my clients’ books have become Amazon best-sellers.

My specialties include nonfiction, creative nonfiction, self-help, and memoir. My last ebook, 10-Tips to Self-Edit a Book: Increase Confidence, Save Money, and Accelerate Your Timeline, has helped clients bridge the gap from writer to author.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the 5-Day Challenge and the 45-Day Challenge?
These valuable challenges help nonfiction authors at different stages of their writing journeys.
The 5-day challenge makes you aware of what you need to begin to do and think about to move forward in your book writing and publishing journey. It’s an appetizer that gives the 10,000-foot view of the prewriting and drafting process.
You’ll get out your thoughts, begin to get organized, and think like a writer. You may even progress to drafting part of a chapter! This is for you if you’re just getting started and need a kick-start.

The 45-day challenge is a deep dive that equips you with a deeper understanding, practical application ,and the motivation you know you need to build the habit of getting it done! Daily, intentional focus is the only way that we build habits that help us move past the fear and procrastination. It provides a space for you to show up with your peers and get encouragement and support with like-minded future authors. The end result? Developing and committing to a writing plan that gets you to complete a minimum of three chapters, your preface, and introduction. What are you waiting for?

You can choose to take just one challenge or take them in succession. Many writers make significant progress in the 5-Day Challenge and then choose to take the 45-Day Challenge to continue their progress and move closer to finishing their book.
