- Do you have a book idea but can’t get motivated to get it done?
- Are you struggling to move your thoughts from your head to paper?
- Do you get started, lose momentum, and quit?
- Do you want to get unstuck and make progress?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, the 45-Day
Nonfiction Writing Program is for you.
Did you know 81% of people in the U.S. believe they have a book trapped inside? Less than 3% attempt to start writing, and only 3% who start actually finish. Are you ready to be in that 3%? My mission is to help you become the writer whose book the world needs.
Join me and your peers as I walk beside you, guide you, and believe in you on your writer’s path.
Time to unleash your book idea! Imagine how you’ll feel the first time you hold your published book!
Overcome your fears, and get your head in the game.
Are you afraid of:
not knowing how to start?
being overwhelmed?
imposter syndrome?
exposing yourself and your ideas?
people not caring about what you have to say?
Let’s “Get It Done” one small step at a time.
When the idea of writing a book seems impossible, we tend to stop before we get started. Don’t even think about eating the whole elephant at once. Take one small bite at a time.
That’s why I designed this program with daily tasks to build momentum and progress. We’ll move step by step through the process of starting and writing your book. You’ll go from overwhelm to overjoy, realizing you have everything you need inside you to “Get It Done.”
Go from head and heart to pen and paper.
Join me and your peers for the powerful experience of community, connection, and collaboration.
Let’s build mental, emotional, and writing muscles to get rid of our fears, gain confidence, and move forward. Think of the satisfaction you’ll get out of accomplishing something every day!

Meet Your 45-Day Program Coach, Gail Kerzner
My goal is to make your writing dreams a reality by coaching you through the complex writing process to solidify your goals and develop a writing environment and schedule that sets you up for success. I’m also your cheerleader, confidante, and accountability partner who guides you through crafting a draft outline and chapters of your book. I know what it’s like to set out on a writing journey and fight to stay on track to plow through to completion.
I love sharing the delight when writers become published authors and believe they have accomplished one of their most significant life goals. As the owner of The Savvy Red Pen— bringing decades of experience in as a writing coach, editor, and proofreader—I’ve helped scores of authors take their manuscripts from concept to book-in-hand by offering expertise and moral support at various stages of their process. Some of my clients’ books have become Amazon best-sellers.
My specialties include nonfiction, creative nonfiction, self-help, and memoir. My last ebook, 10-Tips to Self-Edit a Book: Increase Confidence, Save Money, and Accelerate Your Timeline, has helped clients bridge the gap from writer to author.
Writer Success Stories
Here’s what clients are saying about this program:
I got a solid start on my book and a well-defined plan to continue.
Amanda Cotton, writing a memoir about loss of her mom and her husband, commented, “At the beginning of the challenge, I had only a vague idea about how to write a book. I knew I wanted to write one, but I didn't really know how to start. The challenge helped me to narrow my book's focus and purpose, organize my thoughts more cohesively, and create a story arc for the book. I got a solid start on my book and a well-defined plan to continue writing it. Thanks for the motivation, accountability, and opportunity to collaborate with a group for feedback.”
Amanda Cotton
The daily, intentional focus helped me get over my fear and procrastination.
Jill W, a leadership coach working on a book about her clients’ struggles and triumphs, shared, “I had made significant progress in the 5-day Kick-Start Challenge, but I really “got it done” in the deep-dive 45-Day Challenge. I more fully grasped practical applications and got motivated to build the habits I needed to sharpen my plan and draft engaging chapters. The daily, intentional focus helped me get over my fears and procrastination. And I loved being part of an encouraging peer group and sharing feedback.”
Jill W.
I can now write my book using the clear steps in the challenge.
Suzanne, a business owner helping women discover their inner confidence and joy, is working on a book to help working moms build their lives around their priorities. She confided, “Taking a guided walk through the writing process in the 45-day challenge was just what I needed. The 5-day challenge gave me the kick start, and the extended work of the 45-day group allowed me to make real progress on my book. I loved the interaction of the group, and the ‘get it done’ time with Gail was so helpful. The book writing process now feels achievable, and with Gail’s guidance in this group, I now have actual parts of my book written and the confidence to continue to completion.”
Suzanne
For the first time, I believe writing a book is possible!
Joy C., co-owner of NextHome Cutting Edge Realty and business coach to realtors and entrepreneurs, thought many times about writing a book to help those in her field. She admitted, “I really didn’t know where to start and assumed it would be such an overwhelming task. I was immobilized. However, after taking Gail’s writing challenge, I totally changed my perspective. She breaks down the writing components, and the prompts really helped me form book ideas. Doing the worksheets was fun, and I got into a creative space where my thoughts flowed. She helped me discover why I’m writing the book. I’m grateful for Gail’s passion and desire to help others pursue their writing dreams. If you have EVER thought you’d like to write a book or even a blog, you owe it to yourself to take this challenge and get started!”
